Lichtenstein
Roy Lichtenstein was an artist and one of the leading exponents of the Pop Art movement in the 1960's. His high-profile paintings were inspired by American popular culture, in particular comic strips. His ironic messages and bursting colours mesmerised audiences and he became one of the most important pop artists along with Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and Tom Wesselmen.
